Visiting the Arctic Circle in Finland and Lapland during cold weather can be the adventure of a lifetime. While preparing for the cold takes some effort, payoffs include a chance to see the aurora borealis, viewing reindeer in their natural habitat, dog sledding, experiencing a Finnish sauna, and meeting the Sami, the  native people of this region.

Katherine will present photos of the area’s beauty and inhabitants, while describing the trip and discussing tips for preparing for a trip in cold weather. Kathy’s program begins in Helsinki, Finland and concludes in Rovaniemi, Lapland.

What to expect:   Learn about traveling to Finland and Lapland with the natural beauty of Arctic lakes, ice and snow. Learn why there’s a Scandinavian proverb that “there is no bad weather, only bad clothing.”
