This whiskey class will feature a “horizontal tasting” that will guide you through a spirit’s journey ranging through Bourbon, Rye whiskey, Scotch whiskey, and Irish whiskey.
Be prepared to experience whiskies you won’t find elsewhere. Snifters’ proprietor, Joe Petro, will present a tutorial that will make you an authority in whiskey history/geography, varieties, ingredients, barreling, aging, and how adding a just touch of water can “open up” the depth of aromas.
Shorter daylight hours during winter can trigger the onset of “Seasonal Affect Disorder” (aka SAD). What better way to uplift your mood, than a whiskey-tasking experience with your friends? With the Chesapeake Bay unleashing freezing temperatures and torrents of harsh winds, the soothing warmth of whiskey can make life feel good.
Feedback from past classes with Joe:
“The wine tasting was delightful in every way. Not only did we sample six quality wines, Snifter’s owner, Joe Petro, provided excellent descriptions of the various wines and the regions that produced them. It was a perfect opportunity to meet new members of our community as well as reuniting in person with many Chesapeake Forum members. We encourage the Forum to provide more wine tastings in the future and bravo to Snifters!”
“Thoroughly enjoyed the event. Fascinating to compare pinot noir from other countries … learned more about this particular grape.”
“What a fun and interesting afternoon! Joe did a fabulous job of explaining everything and the wines were great.”
