Enjoy a delicious celebration of regional flavors paired perfectly with local brews at a new Eastern Shore brewery.

Shore Bites and Brews is a flavorful, hands-on tasting experience that celebrates the best of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. This unique class brings together the culinary creativity of the Chesapeake Culinary Center—an educational hub where high school students learn professional cooking skills using locally sourced farm meats, cheeses, and produce—with the craft expertise of Eden Town Brewing Company, a new local microbrewery located in Denton.

Participants will enjoy a guided pairing of five chef-crafted small bites, each thoughtfully designed to highlight seasonal ingredients from regional farms. Every bite is matched with a distinct Eden Town brew, offering a curated exploration of flavor, aroma, and texture. Along the way, you’ll learn how chefs and brewers collaborate to create pairings that enhance both the plate and the pint.

Whether you’re a food lover, a craft beer enthusiast, or someone who simply enjoys supporting local makers, Shore Bites and Brews and the Culinary Center offer a deliciously educational afternoon rooted in community, craftsmanship, and the vibrant agricultural traditions of the Shore.

What to expect:

  • Gain confidence in pairing food and beer by learning how flavor, aroma, and texture interact across five guided small-bite and brew combinations.
  • Learn practical tasting techniques used by chefs and brewers, helping participants identify key flavor notes and make thoughtful pairing choices in the future.
  • Discover the richness of local Eastern Shore ingredients, understanding how farm-fresh meats, cheeses, and produce influence culinary creativity.

Feedback from Matt’s and David’s past courses:

“This was one of the best “beer tours” I have been on.  They are always fun and delicious, but this time I was given an understandable and in-depth description of what is involved in making beer.“

“This was a fantastic new venue that I was not aware of.  The Forum should team up with a food vendor/caterer to hold another event there!”

“David did a get job. He had everything organized from beginning to end. He was positive and welcomed questions.”

“Wonderful course with good, simple recipes for cooking a fish that doesn’t need to be in the bay!  Thanks for such a well-thought course – we certainly did not leave hungry!”

Please note:  The charge for this Chesapeake Forum course includes taste notes from Matt and David, five courses of small bite samples and five paired beers, plus a small contribution to Forum overheads.  **Seats for this program are giftable but not refundable unless there is someone on the waitlist to take the seat. **
