Visit the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, PA as our nation celebrates its 250th birthday. Enjoy an engaging, in-depth introduction to the birth of the United States which is nestled among other important colonial sights. The museum offers a vivid account of the Revolutionary War through artifacts including George Washington’s headquarters tent.
Every day at the Museum, we can find activities and programs that deepen our understanding of the diverse people and complex events that sparked America’s ongoing experiment in liberty, equality, and self-government.
In addition to daily programs, current exhibits provide ample opportunity to explore:
- The Road to Independence: How did people become Revolutionaries?
- The Darkest Hour: How did the Revolution survive its darkest hour?
- A Revolutionary War: How Revolutionary was the war?
- A New Nation: What kind of nation did the Revolution create?
- Revolution Place: Revolution Place brings to life the Museum’s lively, diverse Old City neighborhood during the 1700s and invites visitors to learn through hands-on exploration.
- The Declaration’s Journey: The Declaration’s Journey explores the history and global impact of the Declaration of Independence from 1776 to today and showcases how it has become one of the most influential political documents in modern history.

What to expect:
Join us for a fun daytrip from Easton to Philadelphia by bus. We’ll board our 38-passenger bus from the Easton Fire Dept for the drive into Philly. Once there, our day will include a guided tour of the museum as well as a lunch and a learn program, Philadelphia, a Revolutionary City with catered box lunches. You’ll have time afterward to explore further before heading back home.
- 7:45 am – Depart Easton Fire House
- 10 am – Arrive museum
- 10:15 am to 11:15 am – docent led tour
- 11:15 am to 12:15 pm – explore museum at your own pace (you can purchase use of headset if desired)
- 12:15 pm to 12:45pm – Lunch and Learn
- 12:45pm to 1:45 pm – free time to check out the gift shop, revisit exhibits, find a restroom…
- 2pm – load the bus to return to Easton.
- 4:30 pm – Arrive Easton
We are offering two sandwich options for the Lunch and Learn program. You will be asked to make your selection when registering:
- Caprese sandwich (Mozzarella, roasted Roma tomatoes, pesto, arugula, balsamic glaze, on ciabatta bread. House made Potato Crisps, a cookie and a bottle of water).
- Grilled Chicken sandwich (Arugula, shaved red onions, Dijon mustard, avocado-Boursin aioli (barrel-aged vinegar), on multigrain ciabatta bread. House made Potato Crisps, a cookie and a bottle of water).
