A survey of current research on heart disease, its prevention, and its treatment, to help understand what we can do to keep ourselves heart healthy.
Join Dr. Ian Davis of UM Shore Regional Cardiology to survey the latest in what we know about heart disease as it pertains to men, women, all ages and all ethnicities…
Why is this important to you – NOW?
Coronary artery disease is a heart condition that develops over time. You may be symptomatic (physically experiencing the disease) or asymptomatic (not feeling anything at all). But, here’s the thing… cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide and in the U.S. Almost half of adults in the U.S. have some form of cardiovascular disease. One in three women and people assigned female at birth dies from cardiovascular disease.
You may have already encountered some of these common cardiovascular concerns that can be precursors to future problems:
● Narrowing of the blood vessels in your heart, and other organs throughout your body
● Heart valves that aren’t working right
● Irregular heart rhythms
Dr. Davis will build our awareness of what, why and how these cardiovascular concerns are a problem that needs to be paid attention to – especially as we age. As he does in his cardiology practice, he will focus our attention on prevention and the seven elements to reducing cardiovascular risk.
What to expect:
Participants can expect to gain a comprehensive understanding of the common causes of heart disease and the recommended treatments available. They will also develop practical methods to maintain heart health and learn when it is essential to seek medical care. Through informative discussions and expert insights, attendees will be empowered to take proactive steps towards a healthier heart.
