“A Crisis Like No Other” discusses what global warming is and what we must do, both as individuals and as a society, to defeat it.
There is considerable misinformation and uncertainty concerning global warming. Many people, while concerned, do not have unbiased facts and are not sure where to get the information they need or are getting their information from unreliable sources. This is a critical problem since we all need to make choices on how we prepare for the changes global warming is bringing. Overreacting will cause undue costs and hardships while delaying necessary actions will make it exceedingly more difficult to mitigate the problem both for us and our progeny.
So, what is global warming and how do we defeat it? This talk will cover both topics including how global warming occurs from the generation of greenhouse gasses and how that affects our planet’s energy balance. Next, solving our climate crisis requires us to undertake three activities. The first is the technologies we need to deploy. The second is the decisions we must make in choosing our leaders and sidestepping the influencers that have fossil-energy hidden agendas. And finally, it’s all about us; the personal actions we need to take.
This program is for a general audience and a science background is not needed.
What to Expect: you will learn the science behind global warming and its solutions.
