The excitement and drama of the Senate Watergate Committee hearings in the Summer of 1973 is brought back to life with a combination of videos, anecdotes, and untold stories.
Marc Lackritz and Mary DeOreo’s first date was in San Francisco on June 17, 1972, the same date as the infamous Watergate break-in. A year later, they had both moved to Washington, D.C. to live together and work for the Senate Watergate Committee.
Marc, 26, was the youngest Assistant Counsel, and Mary, also 26, was first a Research Assistant, then promoted to investigator – the only woman on the Committee’s Professional Staff. Today, after a 50+ year marriage, three daughters and seven grandchildren, they are both retired, happily living on the Eastern Shore in Bozman, MD.
Together the couple will bring the excitement and drama of the Senate Watergate Committee hearings back to life with their personal anecdotes and stories. Highlights will include the stories behind the drama of John Dean’s testimony, the discovery of the White House taping system, and the unanswered questions from the investigation!
A great opportunity for political aficionados, history buffs, Watergate junkies, and curious students!
