Enjoy a guided walk at Adkins Arboretum while exploring the beautiful autumn colors!
Explore how four hidden substances provide all the rich color that we enjoy in autumn – greens, yellows, reds, and browns. These substances are actually present during the growing season performing important jobs for leaves and berries, but they are only revealed in the fall. What is the critical event that causes their unveiling? And why can’t we see them all year? Learn the answers to these questions as we enjoy a beautiful walk in the woods.
What to expect:
Gain an appreciation of plants’ contributions to the ecosystem in fall during this walk led by an experienced docent. Understand the substances required for the beauty of fall colors.
Please note: your registration fee pays for the cost of the tour plus a nominal Chesapeake Forum overhead contribution. There will be a golf cart available to assist those who have trouble walking.
