Create some Chesapeake magic with a beautifully decoupaged oyster shell to add a touch of coastal charm to your home or to give as a unique hostess gift.

Join Chesapeake Forum friends for a relaxed, joy‑filled morning of learning the craft of decoupage with this starter project – an oyster shell to use as an ornament or dish to display small treasures!  Celeste will guide you step‑by‑step through the decoupage process using decorative napkins, tissue paper, or fabric, along with clear glue and resin to finish your piece. Patterns, colors, and designs are endless — your imagination sets the tone.

Decoupage is wonderfully accessible: simple materials, limitless creativity, and the satisfaction of turning something old into something new. It’s the very craft that sparked Celeste’s own creative journey, and it may just inspire yours too.

What to Expect:

You will leave with a completed oyster shell ready to display or gift.  All materials will be provided, along with snacks and beverages to enjoy in the company of other crafters.

Celeste Pyper

Celeste Pyper learned this craft from a dear friend who is actually a 30 year plus nurse practitioner and is quite an established artist, this just being one of her many talents. Celeste was intrigued with the technique and experimented on her own to use the technique not only on shells but glass bowls, wooden tables and trays. Just a fun yet creative way to enjoy art without it being expensive, and being able to use easy-to-acquire base products to do the craft. Celeste was born and raised here in Easton. Married with three grown children and 9 precious grands. Now retired from 30-plus years in sales.
