World got you down? “Ordinary Heroes of Old Delmarva” will lift you back up by introducing you to unsung heroes of days gone by on the Eastern Shore and Delaware.

Every day here on Delmarva we walk on footprints from days gone by. Yes, there are bad footprints—selfishness, greed, oppression, and other vices. But there are so many good footprints—courage, kindness, community, and other virtues.

Jim’s presentation is about good footprints. And it’s about something else—how those good footprints don’t just point back in time. They point forward toward becoming better people and building better communities here in the 21st century.

The session will focus on stories from Duffy’s latest book–“Ordinary Heroes of Old Delmarva: Inspiring True Tales of Courage, Kindness, and Community.” We’ll step into the shoes of unsung heroes from American days gone by. Leaping into action during storms and shipwrecks. Reaching out with helping hands across social divides. Bringing neighbors together in times of need. Stories that will revive your spirit.

What to Expect:

We’ll hear Jim’s stories of unsung heroes from days gone by on the Eastern Shore as they grappled with changing times and life challenges.  Discussion of the inspirational qualities of these stories will inspire consideration of how they might apply to our lives today and inform our modern-day choices.
