Artist Karen O’Dowd takes everyday castoffs and creates art. Learn how and why this has become a passion of hers.
Artists have been creating with castoffs forever. In this two session class participants will learn about this medium and its broad interpretations. Importantly, the discussion will focus on the immense toll of unimpeded consumption, waste and the devastating environmental impacts.
Passionate about environmental issues including pollution of our waterways, Karen will teach us about recreating art from trash both from a historical and personal perspective.
What to Expect: Expect to leave with a new appreciation for castoffs as reimagined art, as well as the heavy toll unbridled consumption has on our environment. In Session Two, Karen will host the class at her studio in Royal Oak.
