Spend time at Talisman Therapeutic Riding rediscovering your love of horses! This summer program for adults includes unmounted activities and practical exercises with specially-trained horses at the facility. The two-hour session focuses on equine fundamentals, including horse anatomy, grooming, leading, and horse behavior… not to mention a little “horse play!” After the horses are put away, we will enjoy refreshing beverages and a light lunch harvested from Taliman’s Growing Hope Garden.

The professional team at Talisman passionately believes in the life-changing potential of equine-assisted activities and the transformative power of nature and the outdoors. In addition to the myriad therapeutic riding programs, Talisman is one of 42 licensed stables across the state certified as a Horse Discovery Center by the Maryland Horse Industry Board. This certification allows Talisman to grow the love of horses with many who would otherwise not realize the holistic power of horsemanship.

What to Expect: Enjoy a morning at a horse facility, reconnecting, or connecting for the first time, with horses. The smell of a horse barn, the softness of a horse’s eye, the enjoyment from hugging a horse. Leave with the renewed sense of the value horses give us. Plan on taking a big sigh of relief as you leave your busy world and enter the world of horses! Two hour session includes lunch.
PLEASE NOTE: Closed toe shoes and clothing that does not care about dirt are a must for this adventure. This program is for adults only.
Your registration covers Talisman’s service charges plus a minimal contribution toward Chesapeake Forum programming expenses. We are including a donation button on the registration form to give a donation to their program.
