Things You Should Know
Unless otherwise indicated, courses are held at our Hybrid Classroom upstairs at the Easton Family YMCA on Peachblossom Road in Easton. Hybrid courses offer a choice of attending in person at the YMCA, by Zoom, or by recording (when offered).
New to Chesapeake Forum?
Many of our courses are HYBRID, meaning that you have the convenience of choosing to participate IN PERSON (always the best solution!) at the Easton Family YMCA, by Zoom, or by waiting for the YouTube recording that generally comes out within 48 hrs of each recorded session.
When you register for a Chesapeake Forum course, you will immediately get a receipt. No worries about having a ticket to attend as a course roster is provided to the instructor the day of the course. We send you a reminder two days before the start of your course, and the morning of each course session. When applicable, the reminders will have the Zoom link included as well as links to course handouts.
Refund Policy
Because classes are recorded for viewing on demand and made available regardless of how you choose to take the course, Chesapeake Forum will not issue refunds for hybrid or zoom courses.
Should an in-person only course or event have to be cancelled due to a change in the Governor’s COVID policies, we will let you know immediately and issue refunds to everyone registered. If you are ill at the time of a course you were planning on attending in-person, please let us know, stay home, and we will issue a refund with no questions asked. Otherwise, if we cannot find someone on the wait list to take your place for an in-person course, a refund will not be made if you cannot attend.Course Registration
Online registration is encouraged. If you wish to mail in a check, the form on our mailer can be used for registration. Checks should be made out to Chesapeake Forum/MSCF and mailed to PO Box 544, Easton MD 21601. Please be sure to add your email address so that we can confirm your registrations. For hybrid courses, you will be asked during the registration process how you plan on attending. If this changes by the time the course starts, please let your instructor know.
Weather Cancellations
In case of inclement weather, Chesapeake Forum follows the Talbot County School closing procedures. Refer to the school's website, or you may find school closing information on your local radio and television stations. Weather cancellations of in-person courses will be rescheduled for a later date.
If a HYBRID course is impacted by weather, instead of meeting at our classroom at the Easton Family YMCA, the course will proceed on ZOOM.
YMCA Guest Pass Application
Course participants should note that it is a National Policy of the YMCA to run Member and Guest names thru RAPTOR, the national sex offender database due to the large proportion of youth members and the obligation to protect them.
All of us using the new Hybrid Classroom at the Easton Peachblossom YMCA who are not currently members of the YMCA, will need to sign a 1-time Guest Waiver provided by your instructor and collected by the YMCA on the 1st day of attending class at the Y. You can download it in advance here: YMCA of the Chesapeake Program Participant Guest Pass Application
Privacy Policy
When registering for Hybrid courses you will typically have a choice between participating in-person, live via Zoom, or being sent recordings of the class sessions that you can watch at your leisure. Most hybrid sessions will be recorded. You will be asked to accept a statement that you understand that your image may appear in the recording. In Zoom, turning off video will remove your image. Your name will appear during the class session, but will NOT appear in the recording. Recorded class sessions remain in our library for an undetermined period of time.
