Jim Duffy’s mission at Secrets of the Eastern Shore is to help people discover and cherish an American treasure—the Delmarva Peninsula. In storytelling, presentations and books, he spins true tales from days gone by in a conversational style that brings the people and places of the past back to vibrant life in your mind’s eye. Duffy is the author of six books on regional travel, culture, and history, including two collections of “Eastern Shore Road Trips.” He manages the website and Facebook page Secrets of the Eastern Shore. He is a regular on WBOC-TV’s “Delmarva Life,” telling “Throwback Thursday” tales. Duffy worked in journalism for decades before turning his full-time attention to Secrets of the Eastern Shore. He earned dozens of writing awards over the years while working at newspapers and magazines in Chicago and Baltimore. He moved to Cambridge in 2004. For the last decade, he has devoted himself to helping people make the most of the time they spend living on and wandering around the Delmarva Peninsula.
