Bill Sweeney

William “Bill” Sweeney has spent his career leading and managing efforts to affect public and business decisions from three distinct sectors: not for profit, business and political party. He has been engaged in projects in over 50 countries and almost every state in the United States. More recently, Bill Sweeney, Jr. was President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), serving as Chairman of the Board from 1998 through 2000. Bill was Vice President of Global Government Affairs for EDS, a Fortune 100 information services company, from 2000 until the 2009 acquisition of EDS by Hewlett Packard.  He has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center as well as chairman or member of the board of over a dozen business and technology associations. Bill received a BA in political science from The American University in 1973.
